We’re moving!!!!

So excited to finally share the news and since no one got timeee for a long blog post i’ll get right into the details.

The story

So long story boring, my relator sent me this listing but just passed over it since the photos we’re anything special. I didn’t even bother to look at the house location, sqft, school district, etc. it was just a “nope” in my book cus of the photos.

That Saturday, after seeing about ten not-so-great-homes, we were feeling hopeless. As you guys know, we’ve been tirelessly looking at home for over a year so we felt defeated. After the 10th open house, our realtor told us there was another house nearby and said we should go see it since it was in a “gold” location.

Well, the 11th house of the day ended up being that house we weren’t interested in seeing lol. Lesson learned, don’t judge a book by its cover or in this case photo.

It’s not perfect, it’s not our dream house, but it is our dream location. We knew we were in the perfect neighborhood and the bones of the house were what we were looking for, so we decided to put in an offer immediately. If you’re not familiar with the market right now, it’s absolutely NUTS and after losing four other bids, this time we were prepared. The next morning we got a call that they accepted our offer and the rest is history!

What we wanted in our future house

I get asked this quite often on what we wanted in our house, so here were our non-negotiables:

  • Single story
  • custom build
  • Tons of natural light
  • High ceilings
  • Top school districts (we’re in one of the top-ranked in the country! This is more for resale value in the future)
  • Large yard
  • Closer to my family

Will this be our forever home? Probably not, but who knows! We’re in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by custom homes, walkable parks, top schools, and again the home itself has good bones. The previous family renovated the entire home with the plans of living there long term, but due to covid they had to move across the country for work so everything inside is *brand new*.

BUT you know me, I have plans to change everything. We started construction the day after we closed and I’m excited to share the entire journey ‘cus that inself is a WHOLE situation. We started construction two weeks ago, so a lot has already changed!

Anyways, that’s the story. We’re so excited to share our new journey and will of course be blogging all of our home renovations. Will keep you guys posted here & on stories!

xx
