Places To Eat in SF

Places to eat that are IG worthy

One of the reasons why I travel is to find new delicious “I’ve never eaten” food. The first thing I usually do is list all the places I want to eat on  Yelp then work our itinerary around that location. Obvi, I have my priorities straight. These restaurants were visited were not only top rated on Yelp but also Insta-friendly. Here are a few places you must visit when visiting San Francisco.

LIGHT BITES

The Famous Leo’s Oysters

230 reviews on Yelp, 4 Stars

Honestly, tons of our friends told us not to visit Leo’s. They all said that it was “hella” overpriced and not very good. But being a blogger, I had to come visit if not just for the decor. So we made a reservation (which is highly suggested) and decided to come just for light drinks and snacks around 2 pm. The decor is everything you’ve ever dreamed plus more but the food was a disappointment just like everyone else said. We had six oysters and shared a crab sandwich (which had way too much salt and mayo) and our bill came out to $85. I was not having it. If it was the best snack/meal I’ve ever tasted than by all means take my money, but it seems this place is only good for photos and maybe a cocktail or two.

The Codmother

2482 reviews on Yelp, 4 1/2 Stars

This was on John’s list. John grew up in Seattle loving fish n chips so it’s no surprise that he had this as #1 on his list. We came here for a light bite obviously expecting the best of the best (I mean those Yelp reviews were impressive). And boy, were we in heaven! The fish was so crispy and fresh, but my favorite was the juicy shrimp. If you go, you must best both! It will beat your expectations plus more.

LUNCH

Fog Harbor Fish house
$$
3940 reviews on Yelp, 4 Stars

Always a staple when we visit Pier 39. It located at the entrance of Pier 39 which gives this restaurant major views of the bay and Alcatraz. I opted for a crab salad which was divine and filled with pounds of crab and John bravely ordered a whole crab in garlic sauce. Perfect lunch with beautiful views.

Dumpling Time
$$
653 reviews on Yelp, 4 stars

Located in Design District, this little mom and pop-esque restaurant serves traditional and fusion dim sum style Asian cuisine.  Everything was outstanding being a dimsum lover myself, but I really loved the hand pulled noodles and truffle Shumai dish. Those were my favorite! John loved the more traditional Har Gow and seafood dumplings.

Dinner

Beretta

3200 reviews on Yelp, 4 stars

You can’t ignore the 3200 Yelp reviews this restaurant has on its belt. It lives up to its hype and more. The most memorable dish we ordered were these crab arancini balls and charcuterie platter. I could die over these plates. Plus this restaurant is surrounded by tons of cute and hip boutiques shops. Perfect area to do a bit of shopping and eating.

Campton Place

677 reviews on Yelp, 4 stars, Michelin Star

If you’re feeling romantic and wanting something more refined, then the Campton Place is definitely for you. This Michelin star Indian-American fusion dishes will blow your mind and taste buds out of this world leaving you feeling like you’re on cloud nine. Located in the center of Union Square, this intimate dinner will leave you feeling all sorts of ways.

Now there are tons of restaurants to eat in San Francisco and quite frankly these aren’t even all the ones I could recommend to you guys but here’s a few to start! Hope you are able to visit some of these establishments on your next trip to SF.
