Four days in Paris
I’m back you guys! It’s been the best three weeks of LIFE traveling, but I’m also really excited to be back home. It’s only been 9 days since we left Paris, but for some reason it feels like years ago. I regret not writing this sooner ‘cus my mind is now elsewhere but I’m going to the best I can for you guys.
So the minute we got to Paris John was insanely jet lagged. I slept about 8 hours on the plane, but the ball chain slept 1 hour and instead decided to throw a party by himself and drank a few whiskey shots while listening to his favorite music (I can’t…). Now usually I’m the one drinking on planes (check out that post here) but I’ve been doing really well on planes and opted for a Zzzquil instead which passed me out. ANYWAYS- We got to Paris and the man was buzzed / delirious / sleep deprived so we checked into our hotel and napped till 5pm.
It was my first time in Paris and honestly, I did a poor job of planning our days and really immersing myself in the city. We spent most of our days working and visiting brands, Paris Fashion week shows and shooting content. The other half of our trip we squeezed in some sightseeing and shopping.
We did get to visit the Louvre, Effiel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame but I would definitely come back and explore so much more.
My Paris Recap:
- Hotel: We stayed at La Demeure Hôtel. We paid about $500 per night for this hotel not because it was a 4-star hotel or something but because we came during Paris Fashion Week and we booked our hotel a few days before we arrived. Again, really poor planning. Even the crappy hotels were around $800-$1000 a night so we settled with this one. I really liked our hotel. It was super clean, modern, CUTE, came with a beautiful balcony and a view of the Effiel tower. I recently checked the prices and right now it averages $200 per night so it’s quite affordable in October at least. The only problem with this hotel is that it’s kind of far from everything. It’s not crazy far but if you want to be close to the heart of Paris then this isn’t the best option. But there’s a subway station right outside so it’s accessible to the city within 20 mins or so. We made it work and it wasn’t THAT far…. but next time I’ll definitely find something closer. We like going to our hotel mid-day to rest, drop off shopping bags, change, etc.

- Food: Our dear friend Julia send me her recommendations for Paris (thank the Lord) so we literally followed her recs and we ate pretty damn well! Some places I liked:
- Claus- Great for brunch. Their homemade yogurt was to die for.
- Cafe Cosi- My favorite sandwiches ever!
- Le Relais de l’Entrecote- The famous steak frites restaurant (John’s fave)
- L’as du Fallafel – I could probably eat this every day in Paris. Don’t MISS OUT! It’s worth it. I got the Falafel wrap (vegetarian).
- Pho Dong-Huong- For some authentic and delicious Vietnamese food. This was heavenly. I got the vermicelli with beef and asked for less noodles and more lettuce. John got a spicy beef noodle soup which was amazing!
- Maison Pierre Marcolini- The best chocolate ever!
- Shopping: Obviously a huge part of my trip was shopping. I knew I was going to buy a Chanel in Paris (watch the unboxing here) so we visited a few Chanel boutiques (some carry different pieces) and of course Le Bon Marche. A few other cutes shops:
- Pompon Bazar- The cutest boho shop I’ve ever seen in my life. Dreamy little shop. I really wanted to buy a blanket or rug but John was not having it. He said it wouldn’t fit in our suitcase (liar).
- Thanx God I’m a VIP- Vintage shopping full of designer pieces. It’s worth visiting if you love looking through racks of clothes. It just wasn’t my thing.
- Elleme: Found this handbag brand on IG almost a year ago and loved visiting the store while in Paris. Her bags are super cute, trendy yet classic, and reasonably prices for the quality.
- Places we visited: 50% of this trip was for work so I spent a lot of time finding places to shoot for brands (these places were the cutest to shoot at- some are obviously but still!) and and other 50% we explored.
- Effiel Tower by the Siene point of view. To shoot, I felt the stairs were overdone IMO so I went for a different shot.
- Shops along the Siene make a cute editoral looking photo.
- Jardin du Luxembourg was my favorite place to visit PERIOD. Just beautiful especially early in the morning.
- Cafe Lou Lou (near Luxembourg)- I wasn’t able to eat there but I walked by it and noted it on my phone that it was IG worthy.
- Louvre- Mona Lisa, hello!!
I think that’s all I have guys! I hope you enjoyed this recap and next up- Nice, Frace!
