I want to start off by saying I’m a jean snob. I said it, I own up to it and that’s that. Majority of my closet is made up of jeans, denim shorts, and denim jackets- so jeans are kind of important (if not the most important) to me. I also believe that jeans can make or break your outfit. If you’re wearing a super cute top with not so cute looking jeans, most likely you’re the whole outfit is going to resonate that vibe. My fashion motto has always been invest in staple pieces you wear the most, for me, it’s jeans and tees.
Now I want to put out in the universe that jeans don’t necessarily have to be luxe and expensive to look and feel great. I’m still working on find denim that’s under $100 but I have to admit I haven’t found any that works for me. As much as I loved Zara jeans in my 20’s, Zara jeans never lasted me over 6 months. The color would fade terribly and the quality of the jeans would deteriorate after every wash. I just got sick of visiting Zara every month trying on 20 pairs of jeans knowing it wasn’t going to last me very long. Not to mention buying 5-8 Zara jeans a year was more money wasted then buying one luxe pair of jeans knowing it would last me years. But I do want to find more denim alternatives that are under $100 so until I do more research and try
Paige Hoxton Ankle Skinny Jeans & the Verdugo Ankle Raw Hem: Both are are soft, and even though it’s stretchy it still feels like denim and I can say that they are my most comfortable jeans. I did have to cut both of them about 1-2″ which is totally fine since I like a raw hem. The color I own in Hoxton Ankle is in Kayson Distressed which is my everyday pair of jeans. I will say that I have tried a few different Hoxton jeans but depending on the color/fabric the sizing it’s a bit different so I would say the color Kayson is the best for me. I wear these the most when running errands or around the house. For the Verdugo Ankle Raw hem, I have them in the color Faded Noir Destructed. These are a slightly “worn in” black. It’s still very much a black color and these are a bit skinnier on the ankle compared the Hoxton.

Citizens of Humanity Cara & Emerson: I have two jeans I love from COH. Cara has a fitted straight legged fit. I own a pair in a cream/beige color (sold out) and had to cut them 5 inches but it frayed beautifully and fits me perfectly now. I love them because the fit is slimming, not skinny but it somehow makes you look tall and lean. The Emerson is more relaxed, tapered leg and has more of a girlfriend fit on me. I didn’t have to cut them (since they are cropped normally) and it fits me fine, I own them in the color Santiago. COH is the only jeans I own that have no stretch. And surprisingly I sometimes like a no stretch because the jean color looks better and it also looks more luxe on the body. Thankfully COH jeans stretch beautifully on their own. After a few
Mother Denim Insider Crop Step Fray Jeans: If you’re looking for a crop kick flare jean these are my favorite. I didn’t have to cut them as they fit right above the ankle and the material on these are so luxe, lightweight, and stretchy. Not going to lie, it’s hard to find crop kick flare jeans that fit my petite body type so I was shocked that these fit without me having to cut them!
Hope you guys find this helpful! Let me know what you’re favorites are!
