After a bit of research, I learned that oils are actually emollients, which basically means oils don’t sink deep into your skin like your moisturizers do but they act as a protective layer and sealant that locks your moisturizers, toners, etc. all in.
One major benefit of facial oils that I was most drawn to was the preventative measure from wrinkles. Wrinkles are inevitable, obvi, but we can still prevent and reduce them. Wrinkles are formed by unprotected ultraviolet light which gives us radical damage hence wrinkles and sunspots, but oils are packed with antioxidants, fatty acids, vitamins, and nutrients which prevent further aging, YAY!
So to kick off my new found addiction to face oils, I’ve added a few new products to my skin care regime by Healing Natural Oils which BTW I’m really seeing a difference in my skin. My favorite one is the Simply Skin Vitamin Oil. It’s a great all over face oil that has over nine natural oils that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and Omega fatty acids. A few ingredients to note that are inside are Broccoli oil, Rosehip Seed oil, Argon oil, Sesame Seed oil, and Baobab oil (powerful antioxidant). I’m also using the H-Age Spots to prevent age spots and the Simply Eye Serum (which has definitely helped with my dark circles. I was quite impressed!). We’ll super excited to continue on my oil journey whether it be for the face or body and I’ll keep you guys in the loop if you’re interested.
Let me know what oils you guys or if you use any at all!
