10 Step Korean Beauty

I think it’s safe to say my skin care has stepped it’s game up the past year. Going into my late 20’s, and I mean late late 20’s, I’ve noticed my skin wasn’t looking quite fresh as it used to. It’s not my fault, I completely blame the universe, oh and gravity. But since age is something we can’t fight, I took some measures to prevent as much as possible by learning what my skin needs and forcing a habit every day and night.
First things that came to my google search was the obvious 10 Step Korean Beauty Care Regime. Now I’m not one for spending any time on my face let alone skin care products so it seemed a bit overwhelming. So I continued my search and guess what the next 5 articles were about… 10 Step Korean beauty Care!
I was convinced that if I was to journey on this “Skin Care” regime, I would do it the right… or I guess the “Trendy” way! So here’s a few things I’ve learned and the products I’ve tried and tested for the past 3 months. Now I won’t cover all the steps in detail but this is how it goes..
Step 1. Double cleanse
You need to remove your make up with wipes or an oil based cleanser or BOTH! This is my favorite part of the routine. I never EVER knew what a difference an oil cleanser made. It literally melts all my stubborn mascara, eyeliner and any make up residue left. I use the Insta Nature Facial Oil Cleanser.
Step 2. Cleanse
Then the “double” portion of the double-cleanse comes in. Anything that is a water based cleanser works for this step. The water base washes away any residue from the oil cleanser and remaining impurities. I’ve been using this Aromatica Sea Daffodil Cleanser which has a great mild formula and a foam pump.
Step 3. http://www.songofstyle.com/2016/07/paris-fashion-week-makeup-tutorial.html
I use Be the Skin Non-Stimulus Exfoliator. It’s very gentle on the skin compared to the others I’ve used. I do this once a week in the shower. Enough said.
Step 4. Toner
Toner is suppose to help balance your skin’s pH levels and better absorbs the following products.
I use Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water
and Missha Super Aqua Toner not at the same time but I change it up on different days.
Step 5. Essence
Imperative. If I have one of those days where I only wash my face, I make sure I put essence on. Essence helps with skin repair and cell turn over. I’m currently using the Missha Time Evolution Essence Mist . I thought it would be fun to mist my face plus it has all the benefits that the bottled one has.
Step 6.  Serums
I have a commitment issue with serums. I love them all! I’ve been using the Olay Regenerist Serum for about 5 years now. It’s just a great lightweight everyday serum.
I’ve also been venturing with Skin Inc. serums. I love that you can customize the serum to exactly what you need. Mine is filled with Vitamin A (tackle dullness, tiredness around the eyes), Chlorella (dark spots and brightens), and FPB (antioxidant protection).  There’s a ton more serums to cater to your own personal needs (create your own here).
Last serum is Insta Nature Vitamin C Serum. I have freckles so my skin is prone to sun damage. Vitamin C helps brighten my skin and dark spots. Whether you have freckles or not, Vitamin C is one of the most important weapons in anyones skin care routine. You must repair your skin from the sun!
Step 7. Sheet makes
Too be honest I haven’t yet put on a sheet mask. I know it’s super beneficial but.. girl’s just got no time..
Step 8. Eye cream
I haven’t found an eye cream I must live by, however I’m on the look out!
Step 9. Moisturizer
Must hydrate your face day and night. It’s also a MUST! I alternate between Caudalie Vinosource Riche intense moisture cream and Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream.
Step 10. SPF
I never leave the house without SPF. I’ve been using the Shiseido’s sun protection cream SPF 50+ for years. However, it’s a bit oily. I switch day to day with Secret key Snail Repairing Sun Cream  SPF 50+. It was super affordable ($7) and very lightweight. Love it!
So that’s it. The full routine with my favorite products highlighted. I’m not gonna lie, there are many days that I can’t get through all 10 steps, but even just getting the double cleanse in and applying  toner, essence and serum, my skin has literally been glowing. I definitely recommend trying out a few products if you can’t commit to the full 10 steps! Your skin will thank you.
